/ Attention to detail for a travel enthusiast

In the middle of the suburbs of a major city, there is a seemingly ordinary gabled house that hides numerous construction challenges. A very wide eaves, a double-height space, large glass surfaces and a superstructure with smart installations are just some of the features that we first notice and that give living in the house a very special comfort. Also noticeable is the great emphasis placed on designing light and lighting scenarios and the selection of textiles. But the most important factor in designing the space were the owners themselves, who were present at every step of the design process. The end result is a vibrant interior that reflects their personality and lifestyle – a love of travel and healthy living, and above all, attention to detail. It started with the choice of building materials, as the house itself is a wooden prefabricated construction, and continued with the selection of textiles and other interior elements. Special attention was paid to the selection of natural materials, such as real wool, linen and solid wood, as well as their processing and maintenance, for which natural oils and furniture coatings were carefully studied and selected. The coordination of details with the owners' wishes also took place when designing the exterior of the house and the entire exterior arrangement. Everything, from small details, such as moldings under the eaves and other finishes, to the design of the shed and its connection to the house, paving, lighting, planting, fences and even a built-in mailbox, testifies to their vision and desire to make it as best as possible. Memories from their travels are carefully woven into individual rooms. In the parents' room and bathroom, a tribute to Morocco awaits us, while in the yoga and exercise room, a Tibetan carpet pattern woven into thick silk invites us to meditate. The pattern also adorns the velvet curtains in the living room, which further emphasize the transition to the most beautiful part of the house – the inwardly recessed glass section with the dining table. The fact that this is a special space that represents the heart of the house is also indicated by the choice of a unique chandelier that flaunts above the table. Its stretched thread-like structure with a round finish fills the double-height volume with its "presence", which is delimited by the self-supporting staircase to the upper floor and the passarella (bridge) to the bedrooms. The staircase itself also acts as a unique multifunctional structure, which, despite being located in the middle of the room, does not delimit it, but is part of it. On one side, a fireplace with firewood is also placed in the staircase area, and square boxes serve as small storage drawers. The flow of light is maintained with a glass railing, which is discreetly placed in the landing itself, and so the staircase, despite its size, still maintains the fluidity of the space. The rest of the ground floor is almost completely open, only the windbreak is separated from the whole by a glass wall and a vertical wooden curtain, which intentionally partially obscures the view into the living rooms. In addition to the living and dining areas, there is also a spacious kitchen in dark wood. For additional connection with the rest of the space, the fronts in a vibrant brick color, which are coordinated with the upholstered parts of all the seating elements on the ground floor, provide.
