Gostilna na Gradu

Prenova Gostilne na Gradu izhaja iz prepričanja, da se vrhunska kulinarična izkušnja ne začne s prvim hodom, temveč že v trenutku prihoda. Prostor je zasnovan kot celostno doživetje, kjer arhitektura, svetloba, materiali in pozornost do detajlov soustvarjajo občutek dobrodošlice, ki gosta spremlja vse do slovesa.

V zgodovinskih prostorih Ljubljanskega gradu je prenova iskala ravnovesje med spoštovanjem obstoječe arhitekture in sodobnim načinom gostoljubja. Kamniti zidovi, obokane konstrukcije in sledi časa ostajajo osrednji nosilci identitete prostora, medtem ko novi elementi nežno dopolnjujejo njihovo zgodbo.

Srce interierja predstavlja dolg osrednji točilni pult, ki združuje več funkcij in postane orientacijska točka prostora. Njegova prisotnost povezuje različne ambiente gostilne ter ustvarja naraven ritem gibanja in srečevanja. Črno železo, uporabljeno pri fiksnih elementih, nadaljuje dialog z obstoječimi kovinskimi intervencijami in prostoru dodaja novo plast patine.

Posebna pozornost je bila namenjena udobju gostov. Mehko oblazinjeno pohištvo, premišljena osvetlitev in skrbno izbrani materiali ustvarjajo sproščeno atmosfero, v kateri lahko hrana, pogovor in druženje stopijo v ospredje. Topli odtenki, teksture naravnih materialov in subtilni poudarki v rdeči barvi vzpostavljajo sodobno interpretacijo grajskega ambienta.

Arhitekturna zasnova temelji na prepričanju, da ima vsak poseg svoj namen. Funkcija in estetika sta neločljivo povezani, zato nobena odločitev ni zgolj dekorativna, temveč prispeva k celotni izkušnji prostora in njegovemu delovanju.

Interier je tesno prepleten z novo celostno grafično podobo Gostilne na Gradu, ki jo je v sodelovanju z našim studiem zasnoval studio Yours&Ours. Skupaj ustvarjata enotno identiteto, kjer se arhitektura, grafično oblikovanje in kulinarična ponudba povežejo v usklajeno celoto.

Projekt predstavlja sodobno interpretacijo gostoljubja v zgodovinskem okolju - prostor, kjer se dediščina, oblikovanje in gastronomija srečajo v premišljenem ravnovesju.

/ Gostilna na Gradu

The renovation of Gostilna na Gradu is rooted in the belief that a memorable culinary experience begins long before the first course is served. It starts upon arrival and unfolds through every detail of the guest journey, where architecture, light, materials and hospitality come together to create a sense of ease and belonging.

Set within the historic spaces of Ljubljana Castle, the project seeks a balance between preserving the character of the existing architecture and responding to contemporary expectations of dining. Stone walls, vaulted structures and traces of time remain the defining features of the interior, while new interventions quietly support and enrich their presence.

At the heart of the restaurant stands a long central bar counter, conceived as both a functional and social anchor. Acting as the main element of the interior, it connects the different areas of the restaurant and establishes a natural flow throughout the space. Black steel details continue the dialogue with existing metal interventions, adding depth and a refined sense of patina.

Comfort played a central role in the design process. Soft seating, carefully considered lighting and tactile materials create an atmosphere that encourages guests to slow down and fully engage with the experience. Warm tones, natural textures and subtle red accents offer a contemporary interpretation of the medieval setting.

The project is guided by a simple principle: every design decision should have a purpose. Function and aesthetics are treated as inseparable, ensuring that each intervention contributes both to the performance of the space and to the overall guest experience.

The interior is closely intertwined with the new visual identity of Gostilna na Gradu, developed by Yours&Ours in collaboration with our studio. Together, architecture, graphic design and gastronomy form a coherent narrative that extends across every touchpoint of the restaurant.

The result is a contemporary expression of hospitality within a historic setting - a place where heritage, design and culinary culture meet in thoughtful balance.
